Dentistry at Main has been serving the dentistry needs of Ottawa residents since March 2004. Ottawa dentist Dr. Ami Barakat built his practice up from scratch. He opened his doors for the first time with no existing patients, and over the past five years, he has developed Dentistry at Main into a thriving practice.
Loyalty is very important to Dr. Barakat, and he has worked very hard to cultivate this kind of atmosphere at Dentistry at Main. The results speak for themselves. The vast majority of Dr. Barakat’s core team members have been with him for at least three years, and many of his patients choose to bring their entire family to Dentistry at Main for all of their dental treatments.

Delivering high quality dental treatments is a top priority for Dr. Barakat, and he understands that there are two important components to providing exceptional dentistry services: extensive training and high levels of personal service.
In order to deliver the best results possible, he has handpicked a team of highly trained dental professionals who demonstrate excellence in the field. All of the team members are LVI trained, ensuring that they have been exposed to the latest materials and techniques in the field of cosmetic dentistry. Continuing education is also a priority for Dr. Barakat, and he and his team members are constantly attending courses to improve the quality of their dental care.
Highly personalized attention is one of the core values of Dentistry at Main. Dr. Barakat meets with every patient personally and takes care of all dental work for each and every patient. This highly personalized service has enabled Dr. Barakat to establish strong relationships with many of his patients, which is a main reason why he is the family dentist for so many Ottawa residents.
Accolades and Community Involvement
In 2006, Dr. Barakat received a fellowship to the Academy of General Dentistry and a scholarship to the Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies, one of the most prestigious cosmetic dentistry post-graduate training institutions in North America. Dr. Barakat was one of only four Canadian dentists, and the only one from Ontario, to receive this scholarship in 2006.
In 2008, Dr. Barakat received the “40 Under 40 Award.” Presented by the Ottawa Business Journal, this award recognizes Ottawa business people under age 40 for their achievements. He was only 33 when he earned this prestigious honour.
Like many other Ottawa residents, Dr. Barakat is an avid hockey fan. In an effort to give back to the local community and fuel his passion for the national past time, Dr. Barakat sponsors several youth hockey teams in the area.
