Invisalign®

Serving Kanata, Stittsville and Ottawa, Ontario

Ottawa Invisalign Dentist

Dentistry at Main offers Invisalign®, the teeth alignment system that is virtually invisible. You may find this an appealing option if you would like to straighten your teeth but do not want to deal with the eye sore created by traditional braces.

Ottawa cosmetic dentist Dr. Ami Barakat may recommend Invisalign if you have:

  • Gaps between teeth
  • Uneven teeth
  • Misaligned teeth
  • Protrusive teeth
  • Crowded teeth

Invisalign Process

Invisalign is a cosmetic dentistry application which uses clear plastic trays to gradually change the alignment of your teeth, making them straight the way traditional orthodontics do. Many orthodontists offer Invisalign for minor misalignments, but cosmetic dentists are able to provide Invisalign treatment to patients with more severe misalignment.

When you begin treatment, Dr. Barakat will first take digital X-rays of your teeth. Based on your X-rays, he will create a plan for moving your teeth into their correct alignment. Invisalign lab technicians will create a series of plastic trays for you to wear in sequence. These aligners will gradually move your teeth into the desired placement.

The trays are easy to clean and, unlike braces, you can simply remove them to brush your teeth and floss, helping keep your teeth in good health, even while you are undergoing treatment.

Benefits and Results of Invisalign

You can also remove the trays when you are eating or for important events like:

  • Portraits
  • Weddings
  • Presentations
  • Formal engagements

The result of Invisalign treatment is that you have correctly aligned teeth and a more beautiful smile without having to wear braces. The cost of Invisalign is also usually less than the cost of a smile makeover, though it requires more time to complete.
