Amanda

Amanda joined the Dentistry@Main Team in April of 2006.  Born and raised in the small town of Havelock, Ontario, Amanda attended the Norwood District High School. After Graduating from High School, Amanda attended Durham College in Oshawa. In 2000 she completed the Dental Assistant Program where she graduated with Honors atop the Deans List.

Family comes first for Amanda, as such she stayed close to home and worked in Campbellford as a Dental Assistant for 3 years, where her passion and skill for the dental profession grew along with her experience.  Amanda’s love for life and desire to achieve more helped make the decision to attend Algonquin College in Ottawa in 2003 an easy one.  It would be 2 more years in the Dental Hygiene Program before she again graduated with Honors.  During her stay in Ottawa for school, Amanda fell in love with the city and so it seemed only natural after graduation to make it her new home.

The Dental Profession is a continuously changing field and the learning cycle is on-going.  To stay ahead of the change Amanda is always trying to improve her skill and knowledge through educational seminars, conferences and courses, always with her patients care as her focus!

Amanda’s passion is prevalent in everything she is a part of.  She loves spending time with her family and friends and in her own time she stays involved in a few other passions, which include baseball, volleyball, rollerblading, reading and movies, just to name a few of her favorites. She loves the professional and helpful environment that she feels working with Dr. Barakat and the rest of the team at Dentistry at Main and hopes her stay there will be a long one!!

Anne

Anne has been in the dental field since 1990 as a Certified Dental Assistant. During this time, she met and married the love of her life, Dr. Barakat. Anne returned to school in 2001 to become a Registered Nurse. Although her career has changed, dentistry has remained a major part of her life. She currently is the Hygiene Director at Dentistry@Main. Anne participates alongside the team in many dental continuing education courses including The Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Esthetics.

Anne is excited to be part of a team that has exciting technological advances and training, enabling them to provide an optimal level of care to their patients.

Anne loves spending time with her four kids and husband. She also enjoys travelling and watching hockey "GO HABS GO".

Cathy

Hi my name is Cathy. I am one of Dr. Barakat’ s Dental Assistants here at Dentistry@Main.

I joined this wonderful team here in 2007. I am a Level 2 Dental Assistant who graduated from CDI College with honours.

One of the many things that I enjoy here at Dentistry@Main is that Dr. Barakat is always learning the latest in Dental. I enjoy going on continuing education courses, which allow me to keep my skills up to date as well as learning the latest and the newest technologies this office has to offer to our wonderful patients.

I am very dedicated to making everyone of our patients feel comfortable and relaxed as they can be during their visit here at Dentistry@Main.

Christine

Christine, a registered Dental Hygienist, joined our team at Dentistry@Main in the fall of 2009.  Born and raised in Sudbury, Ontario, she graduated with honors from the dental hygiene program at Cambrian College in 2004. She began her dental hygiene career in Sault Ste Marie, Ontario, where she practiced for 5 years before relocating to Ottawa.

Committed to providing excellence in dental care, Christine regularly attends continuing education courses to keep her current with new dental technology and techniques. This allows her to provide the highest quality of care and education to her patients.

Christine’s excellent sense of humour and pleasant professional manner makes patients of all ages feel welcome. She enjoys helping them maintain and achieve optimal oral hygiene thereby contributing to the well being of their general health.

Not only does Christine have a passion for the dental field, but a great big heart for pets! She is the proud owner of two beautiful cats, Summer and Lilly.

Kayla

Kayla joined the dynamic team at Dentistry@Main in January 2011. She graduated as a level two dental assistant with honours and has been working in the dental field since 2008. She enjoys learning and sharing her knowledge of dentistry through her continuing education as well as providing patients with the highest quality and gentle care. Helping to create healthy and bright smiles for her patients shows she's passionate about her career.

In her free time she enjoys being with family and friends. She loves travelling, rollerblading, camping, shopping, going to the gym and spending a lot of time outdoors. With her energetic and outgoing personality she loves being around people and making them laugh.

Kayla brings a lot of determination and enthusiasm to Dentistry@Main. Her goal is to continue to excel in the latest advances in dentistry with Dr. Barakat’s team.

Kristy

Kristy recently joined the team here at Dentistry@Main in July 2010. Kristy began her career in the dental field after graduating from the Dental Assisting program at Niagara College in 2001. She went on to further her education by taking the Dental Hygiene program at Algonquin College. She graduated with honours in the year 2003 and has been working as a registered dental hygienist for seven years.

Kristy is excited to advance her career path at Dentistry@Main. She shares the passion for learning and continuing education with Dr. Barakat and all of his team. She is proud to be able to provide quality patient care by using the most current technology in a modern environment. Kristy is dedicated to making your dental experience a pleasant one!

Aside from dentistry, a few of Kristy's other passions include spending time with family and friends, keeping fit, running, snow boarding and travelling.

Laurie

Laurie Danis is Dr. Barakat’s Patient Coordinator. She was one of the first to join his team in 2004.

Laurie was born and raised in the Ottawa area. She is a proud mother of two beautiful daughters. Laurie is also living in the Stittsville area.

She went back to college and received her diploma in 2004 for Dental & Medical Administration. She enjoys furthering her knowledge in dentistry through continuing education. Laurie is very proud and dedicated to providing our patients with the best quality and gentle care.

Her goal is to continue to strive for excellence in everything she will do. Laurie is a great team player and motivator. She considers all the team at Dentistry@Main to be a part of her family.

During her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, taking a long walk, rollerblading, going to the cottage, travelling, going to the movies and lots of shopping.

Natalie

Natalie joined Dr. Barakat’s team as a patient coordinator in May 2010. She graduated from Algonquin careers academy as a medical/dental office assistant with honors. Natalie grew up in Ashton, Ontario for most of her life. She enjoys being outdoors most of her spare time as well as spending time with her family and friends. Her goal at Dentistry@Main as a patient coordinator is ensure patients receive quality care and have all their needs met. Natalie enjoys working for Dr. Barakat and his incredible team here at Dentistry@Main, while learning all the latest in Dentistry.

Tabatha

Tabatha joined the Dentistry@Main team in early 2010. She graduated from CDI College with honours.  She has been working as a dental assistant for the past four years and has joined this team as a dental assistant/patient coordinator. 

She has recently moved to the West end from the East end of Ottawa. She enjoys the outdoors; camping, biking, travelling and most of all being with family and friends. She is an energetic, devoted person who is passionate about her job and being part of the team.

 Her goal is to continue to be the best she can be, and to be an excellent addition to Dentistry@Main. She is happy to work with a dedicated and dynamic team who all share the same passion and interest in dentistry.

Tamara

Tamara graduated Dental Hygiene in 2004 and has been part of Dr. Barakat’s team since 2005.  She is very happy to be part of such a progressive team.  As all of Dr. Barakat’s hygienists, Tamara is highly trained in Laser Therapy and discussion of Neuromuscular dentistry. Her passion for the profession is evident in continuing education and her ability to put patients at ease. She is dedicated to providing patients with the utmost of quality care, in a gentle and relaxed manner. Staying current in dental technology is very important to Tamara and through continuing education she is able to provide patients with the latest in dental hygiene advancements.  Her goal is to tailor your dental hygiene care to best meet and maintain optimal oral and overall health.

Tamara loves spending her free time with her husband and two year old daughter Avery.  She enjoys travelling, cooking and decorating her new home.
